Saint Simon Citadel is located in the far southern end of Lilon Mountain. It is built on a solid projection of rocks. It is 564m above sea level. Saint Simon chose this secluded place to worship God.
Saint Simon Citadel is considered one of the biggest and most luxurious churches in the world. The builders took the pillar of Saint Simon as the centre of the building which has the shape of the cross.
with the eastern hand longer than the other three hands which are equal in length. The church is 5000 square meter in size. The construction of the church started in 1476 and finished in 1490. Many additional parts were attached to the church many years later.
